Art Spander was honored by the PGA of America with its Lifetime Achievement Award in Journalism. Huge congrats to Art (Dad) for a great honor, one that is well deserved. He is a fabulous wordsmith, constructing detailed word pictures of tournaments and rounds and the golfers' individual joys and agonies for his readers. He is also a walking historian of golf's majors. Art covers all sports extremely well, but golf is his true passion.
Art is NEVER at a loss for words, but he said this of his honor: "People are not going to believe this, but I do not have words for this."
